Yeşillikleri şu şekilde yıkamalıyız:

Marul, maydanoz, dereotu, kıvırcık marul, nane vb. yeşillikler mikroplara karşı yıkamadan önce bir süre sirkeli suda bekletmeniz sizin açınızdan daha faydalı olacaktır. Aynı zamandan sirke yerine limon da kullanabilirsiniz ancak sirke ya da kullandığınız limonun miktarı suyun 1/3ü kadar bir miktarda olmalıdır. Suda 10 dakika kadar bekletilmesi yeterli olacaktır. Aksi taktirde yeşillikleriniz C vitamini bakımından zengin olduğu için C vitamini özelliğini kaybedecektir. Bunun nedeni ise C vitamininin suda eriyen bir vitamin olmasıdır. Daha sonra yeşillikler böcek, toprak, kir kalıntılarına karşı çok az akan bir suyun altında yıkanmalıdır. Bu durum temizlenmelerine faydalı olacaktır.
